Sr. Alisi is in charge of the health project. There are 6 Filipino women who are trained Community Health Workers and take responsibility in this project. There are 2 doctors, Dr. Ben an’ Urban Poor’ community Health advocate and instructor of the community Health Workers (CHW)training. He comes every Friday to supervise and give additional instruction Dr. Lee, a gynaecologist comes to give maternal care and health teaching. There are also 2 foreign nurse volunteers who visit weekly. They treat patients and continue health education both with the clinic staff and people in the community. At present they are Dunea who comes from Palestine, and Monique who is Australian.. We have had many over the past years. As they move on to other parts of the world, it seems that there are always others to take their place.
We see on average 30 patients a day from Monday to Friday. We sell medicines at affordable prices to the people, and many come for medicines every day including Saturday and Sunday.
